There are about 500'000 blind people in Viet Nam – mostly among the poor. “Cataract” accounts for two thirds of all cases. Cataract surgery, although a simple operation and with cost of about 1 million VND only – is totally unaffordable for many of the poor victims.

Eye Charity program on June 11th, 2106 at Tan Chau District, An Giang Province

On June 11th, 2015, Eye Charity Vietnam organized eye surgeries for 83 patients at Tan Chau Hospital, An Giang Province. The program was carried out by doctors staff of Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital in collaboration with doctors staff of Tan Chau Hospital. Doctor Tuan - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital and Doctor Dung - Director of Tan Chau Hospital also attended the program.
