There are about 500'000 blind people in Viet Nam – mostly among the poor. “Cataract” accounts for two thirds of all cases. Cataract surgery, although a simple operation and with cost of about 1 million VND only – is totally unaffordable for many of the poor victims.

August activity and Financial updates

On 26th and 27th August, 2015, Eye Charity Vietnam in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital and Phu Tan Hospital in An Giang Province will organize eye surgeries for the poor in Phu Tan District, An Giang Province. This program will bring eye sight for 160 patients who are cataract disease.
