There are about 500'000 blind people in Viet Nam – mostly among the poor. “Cataract” accounts for two thirds of all cases. Cataract surgery, although a simple operation and with cost of about 1 million VND only – is totally unaffordable for many of the poor victims.

Eye charity Program in Quang Ngai August 2017

From 23 to 25 August 2017, Eye Charity Việt Nam and HCM Eye Hospital organized a charity eye surgery program at Dang Thuy Tram Hospital, Duc Pho district, Quang Ngai province.

The program was succesful with 193 patients treated.
