There are about 500'000 blind people in Viet Nam – mostly among the poor. “Cataract” accounts for two thirds of all cases. Cataract surgery, although a simple operation and with cost of about 1 million VND only – is totally unaffordable for many of the poor victims.

Summary of the eye charity program in Ca Mau on November 27th 2019 and November 28th 2019

The team of doctors of Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital had sent two days on November 27th 2019 and November 28th 2019 working extremely hard, but the greatest happiness that makes them forget the fatigue is when they successfully operated 215 cataract surgeries for 215 poor patients with difficult living standard in Ca Mau. The joy and happiness is clearly visible on the faces of the patients that motivates us to continue carrying out charity programs to operate for poor patients who are at risk of blindness.
