There are about 500'000 blind people in Viet Nam – mostly among the poor. “Cataract” accounts for two thirds of all cases. Cataract surgery, although a simple operation and with cost of about 1 million VND only – is totally unaffordable for many of the poor victims.

Eye charity program in Lai Chau Province from Oct 10th, 2018 to Oct 13th, 2018 - SEASON 1: Tam Duong District

Continuing the spirit of volunteering to help bring eye sight back to the poor through the cataract eye surgery program. Now, not only in the southern provinces, Eye Charity has expanded into the Northern areas. Tam Duong District, Lai Chau Province is the first place in the North that Eye Charity combined with Lai Chau Social Disease Prevention Center and successfully performed to bring light to a total of 41 poor patients in this district.
