There are about 500'000 blind people in Viet Nam – mostly among the poor. “Cataract” accounts for two thirds of all cases. Cataract surgery, although a simple operation and with cost of about 1 million VND only – is totally unaffordable for many of the poor victims.

Eye charity program at Phung Hiep - Hau Giang Province in December, 2015

On 3rd and 4th December, 2015, Eye Charity Vietnam organized eye surgeries for 88 patients in Phung Hiep Hospital, Hau Giang Province. The program was carried out by Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital's staff in collaboration with Phung Hiep Hospital's staff.
